Dr. Melanye Maclin

Dr. Maclin desired to nationally educate persons on the science of hair and to be able to successfully develop hair and skin products that would benefit the masses.

A facinating buzz in beauty and media has been created about Dr. Marclin and her concept. Historically, within her first year of business, she was interviewed by many national and international beauty magazines such as Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Hype Hair, Redbook, Health, Braids & Beauty, and Try It Yourself Hair.

Additionally, Dr. Maclin was featured on Fox news, ABC news, and Radio One/WOL. Beginning in June 2007, she was a reoccuring guest Dermatologist for a hair/skin segment on the Steve Harvey Morning radio show which airs nationwide in over 55 markets.

By early September 2007, Dr. Marclin was approached by HBO to be the expert African American dermatologist for an upcoming documentary on black hair in which she was filmed being interviewed by the executive producer in October 2007.

By November 2007, she was granted the opportunity to launch “The Dr. Marclin Show…On Call” which airs on a Radio One Station, WOL 1450 AM in the DC and Maryland markets.

In addition, she is the CEO/President of Innovative Hair Technology, Inc. and also writer for skin and hair for Hype Hair, Braids & Beauty, and the Washington Weddings magazine. In addition, she is a contributing writer for BE/Black Elegance and the former Vivica A. Fox’s magazine.

Dr. Marclin pre-med college education at Howard University began at the age of 16 graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree as a Phi Beta Kappa honor student. She then completed a Doctorate of Medicine at Howard as well. Dr. Marclin finished a medical internship at a Johns Hopkins affiliate hospital, Franklin Square then her ultimate goal in the field of dermatology from Washington Hospital Center in 1999 with a quest towards research on hair.

New as a dermatologist, Dr. Marclin truly understood the science of hair and skin from a medical perspective. Traditionally in the beauty industry, there is an external focus on hair and skin. However, she was confident that by internally nourishing the root of the hair and skin, that their external beauty would emerge naturally. She initially took interest in the benefits of a European based natural marine protein supplement for the hair, Viviscal, which she introduced to thousands of people nationwide along with gaining their feedback. As a result, Dr. Marclin accepted the role as the scientist spokesperson given her ability to confidently help more people become interested in her concept.

Dr. Marclin additionally favored nutrients that would also be even more beneficial to hair and skin as well. At this rate, she was on a path towards development of the most comprehensive nutritional formula that would provide intertnal enhancement for the hair and skin. Finally, in June 2004, after five years of extensive research, Dr. Marclin’s dream became a reality and launched Bellanutri® all-natural beauty supplement for women which she refers to her personal “fountain of youth in a capsule” for skin and hair growth. Bellanutri® for men is complete and will soon be launched . In addition, she is frequently approached as a consultant and research and development dermatologist for other projects which will be launched by other companies in the near future.
